BHOPAL: Three molestation cases were reported in the city in the past 24 hours.
In the first incident reported at Shahpura police station, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a 24-year-old youth in front of her parents on Sunday morning.
Investigating officer SI Dharmendra Jatt said that the survivor is a resident of Shahpura locality and a student of class 9. In her complaint to police, she stated that on Sunday morning when she was standing in the courtyard of her house, the accused neighbour approached her telling her why she was making a rude face.
During the talk, the accused allegedly molested her and tore her clothes in front of her parents. Subsequently, the case was reported at Shahpura police station under sections of IPC and the accused, who works at a private firm, was arrested.
A counter complaint was also registered in the above case at Shahpura in which an 18-year-old relative of the accused lodged a molestation case against the father of the survivor.
In another incident reported at Ayodhya Nagar police station, a 25-year-old girl was allegedly stalked, molested and assaulted by a youth on Sunday evening. Police said that the survivor, who works at a private firm in Ayodhya Nagar and is a resident of Sukhi-Sewania, stated in her complaint that accused Malkhan Singh Meena, a resident of Shujalpur, was stalking and pressurising her to befriend him for past one year.
On Sunday when she was returning home after finishing office work, the accused approached her on his motorcycle. He stopped her way and molested her in full public view. When the survivor resisted, he snatched her mobile phone and broke it. Police said when locals started gathering to help the survivor, he managed to escape.
A case of molestation was registered and further investigations are on. In the third incident reported at Piplani police station, a 38-year-old woman was allegedly stalked and molested by a neighbour on Saturday. The accused was identified as Vijay Singh.
