BHOPAL: In a hit-and-run case in Khajuri locality early on Friday morning, a speeding loading vehicle allegedly knocked down a 55-year-old woman on the Bhopal-Indore highway, and fled the spot. The victim sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Hamidia hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.
Investigation officer SI Rajesh Manjhi said that the deceased Kunti Bai, wife of Jagdish Bairagi, was a resident of Phanda village in Khajuri and was mentally unstable. CCTV footage of the spot showed that the speeding pick-up vehicle hitting the woman.
Khajuri police said a case has been registered.
