BHOPAL: The new academic session has begun in schools, but there is no clarity about the summer vacations. Schools said that they will continue with classes until there is any clarity from the school education department.
Schools in the state capital have opened their campuses for the new session. However, there was no clarity about the summer vacations.
“We have not received any correspondence from the school education department about it. We will keep running the new session till any such correspondence,” said a school owner, requesting not to be named.
Parents are however worried about the scorching heat with mercury soaring to 40 degrees Celsius mark in March itself.
“There temperature is already around 40 degrees. In such summers, there was no reason for continuing classes. Government should make the situation clear,” said a parent, Milind Vishwakarma.
This year class 10 and 12 term II will be in April due to which students are worried about losing their summer vacations.
CBSE has announced the CBSE term 2 exams scheduled between April 26 and June 15, 2022. Sessions normally begin on June 15 and in such a situation there are likely to be no summer vacations this year.
Even the government schools have resumed their classes. Class 5 and Class 8 exams will start on April 1 in the schools affiliated with MP Board.DEO Bhopal Nitin Saxena said that there was no information about the summer vacations.
“At present, I have no such information available to me. The school education department is likely to issue the dates about it in the next couple of days. Till that time schools will remain open,” said Saxena. Sources said that the government may instruct the school education department to start the new session on June 13.
