BHOPAL: A man, his wife and sister-in-law allegedly assaulted their 70-year-old father and poured acid on him in Gunga on Tuesday. The victim suffered 10% burn injuries and was admitted to a hospital.
Police said, the victim wanted to divide his property among his sons and daughters equally while the accused wanted him to divide it between his sons only.
SHO Gunga Ramesh Rai said that victim Hamir Singh Ahirwar, 70, a resident of Ratua Ratanpur village in Gunga, has two sons and six daughters. He owns agriculture land..
SHO Rai said that Hamir told police that he wanted to distribute his property equally among his eight children. But his elder son Sanju was against it. A dispute took place between him and Sanju over the issue on September 19 around 11 pm. Sanju started hurling abuses over him and he along with his wife Seema and sister-in-law Puja assaulted him. They threw acid cleaner on him.
SHO Rai said that the old man was wearing a shirt but still he suffered severe injuries on his shoulders.
He did not inform anybody about the injuries till Thursday but when he felt severe pain, he approached Berasia hospital from where he was referred to another hospital. SHO Rai said that acting on information from the hospital police have registered a case against the three accused including Sanju, his wife Seema and younger son’s wife Puja.
