Bhopal: Doctor booked for submitting fake documents

BHOPAL: Gautam Nagar police, acting on complaint filed by Ayushman Bharat Scheme officials, registered a case on Monday on charges of fraud against a doctor for allegedly seeking payment of ₹70,000 by submitting forged treatment records of two women patients in June. Before the payment was transferred, the alleged fraud was revealed.

SHO Gautam Nagar Zaheer Khan said that the accused Dr Sandeep Dubey is the director of a private hospital on Berasia Road. The complainant, Dr Padmakar Tripathi, general manager Ayushman Card Scheme, filed a complaint against Dr Dubey’s hospital stating that it showed records of two ‘fake patients’. The said stated in the allegedly forged records that Jamuna Bai and Babli were provided treatment under the scheme and sought reimbursement of ₹70,000.

Cops are investigating the case to find out whether more such payments were taken by the hospital in the past.
