BHOPAL: Crime branch on Tuesday arrested a hardcore vehicle-lifter and two others, who allegedly purchased stolen vehicles from him. Police recovered eight vehicles from the accused.
Acting on a tip off, a team of Crime Branch rounded up a man, while he was trying to sell a bike at throwaway price near Imaliya police outpost at Tarawali Jod. The accused identified himself as Bhura, 30, a resident of Dongaria village in Berasia. When police asked for the documents of the bike, he could not give them a satisfactory answer. During interrogation, he told cops that he had stolen the bike from the premises of Bhopal court. In the past, he had stolen bikes from Bhopal court, Vidisha court, Panchayat office parking, bus stand, Sironj hospital and several places.
Police seized six two-wheelers from the hut built on his agriculture field. He sold two stolen vehicles to Phool Singh Meena and Phool Singh Tanwar in Rajgarh district. Police arrested the two accused and seized the stolen vehicles.
Police said that Bhura was booked two years back on charges of abducting and raping a minor girl, while Phool Singh Meena was also arrested on charges of harassing a woman. Police were looking for the crime record of the third accused.
