Bhopal: Clouds keep mercury in check, but brace for heat bounceback

BHOPAL: After Thursday’s mild drizzle, cloud kept the mercury under check in the state capital and the day and night temperatures in Bhopal remained slightly less than normal mark. The systems impacting the city and majority of places in the state have cleared and the temperature would again go up till the next system hits the state.

Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle said, there is a cyclonic circulation over south-east MP and adjoining Chhattisgarh. It would lead to showers over a few places in the state. There is no other system over the state which means the temperature would again take the upward trend.

Day temperature in Bhopal on Friday was recorded at 39 degrees Celsius, 0.5 degrees less than normal mark, while night temperature in the city was 21.8 degrees Celsius, 1.5 degrees less than normal mark. Wind direction in the city was easterly and average wind speed was 12 kmph.

In the forecast for Bhopal on Saturday the meteorological officials said, there would be clear sky and dry weather will prevail in the city. Day and night temperature in the city would be respectively at 39 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius while average wind speed will be 20 kmph.

In the forecast for state meteorological officials issued warning of thunder, lightning and high velocity winds for places including Rewa and Shahdol divisions and for Balaghat and Betul districts.
