BHOPAL: Even as Covid-19 cases are dropping in the city, experts have warned that in view of the upcoming festival season, the Covid guidelines need to be properly enforced and use of masks as well as social distancing, which have been the most neglected aspects of the restrictions, are seriously adhered to.
The district administration on Wednesday issued a statement reminding people that prohibitory orders under section 144 of the CrPC issued on June 15 continue to be in force and any kind of procession, demonstrations or sit-in agitations are prohibited in the district. Organising any kind of religious, cultural, social or political event is also banned.
“Steps will be taken to ensure that under no circumstances, a crowd is allowed to assemble anywhere. Section 144 is in force and more than five persons can’t assemble at a place for any purpose,” said an official of the district administration. He also pointed out that the district administration is working to get maximum people vaccinated. About 3 lakh people have not got even the first jab of the vaccine so far. The district administration will identify them by door-to-door survey being carried out by Asha workers.
Additional collector Dileep Yadav has asked all SDMs to hold a meeting of peace committees in police station areas under their jurisdiction and inform the particpants that section 144 of the CrPC is still in force.
