BHOPAL: A speeding car rammed into a house while negotiating a turn in Bilkhiria locality on Friday evening. The car hit a two-year-old girl sitting beside the door of the house severely injuring her head. Though the car driver helped her uncle rush her to a private hospital, but fled the spot with his vehicle after dropping them.
The girl succumbed to her injuries within an hour while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Bilkhiria police have registered a case against the errant car driver and seized the car after it was found abandoned near a petrol pump.
SHO Bilkhiria Umesh Singh Chouhan said that the deceased girl Muskan Ahirwar, daughter of Sandeep Ahirwar, along with her elder sister Chetna resided at her grandparents’ home in Khajurikhurd Jabranpura village in Bilkhiria. Her father works in Agar district while her mother resided at her parents’ home.
SHO Chouhan said that Muskan’s grandfather Nathuram told police that his house is located beside the concrete road in the village. The road is 12-feet wide and his house is four-feet above the road. Drainage outside his house was under construction.
Her grandfather told cops that the speeding car road failed to negotiate the turn and rammed into his house. It jumped over the under-construction drainage and hit Muskan. Hearing the noise Nathuram and other family members rushed out and found Muskan bleeding.
Cops said that there were three youths in the car. Villagers confirmed that it was speeding.
