NEW DELHI: Yuki Bhambri from India and his French partner Albano Olivetti lost their semi-final match at the ASB Classic in Auckland, despite a promising beginning.
The unseeded Bhambri-Olivetti duo initially held control, but succumbed to the tournament's top seeds Nikola Mektic and Michael Venus, who secured a 3-6, 6-1, 5-10 victory in the ATP 250 event's semi-final contest.
For their performance in the hard court competition, Bhambri and Olivetti each earned 90 points and shared $10150 in prize money.
The collaboration proved beneficial for India's second-ranked player Bhambri, who had previously partnered with Venus, helping him prepare effectively for the upcoming Australian Open.
