BGT's Ant and Dec have fans in stitches and are applauded for 'brill' opening act

Britain's Got Talent presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly set the bar for tonight's show by opening the ITV semi-finals with a hilarious duet.

The popular television duo are back to host the much-anticipated show and are brining their usual dose of comedy to Saturday night.

"Its been a strange few months, hasn't it? I've missed so much, I've missed the laughs, the magic, the mayhem," Dec said, amid a dark stage.

"I've missed the singers, the acrobats..." Ant added.

The pair couldn't wait any longer and quickly launched the show.

In the pre-recorded footage, Ant and Dec did a quick change into their matching suits before grabbing their microphones and switching on the lights around the studio.

Running around the stage, the pair were joined by fabulous backing dancers before introducing the virtual audience as well as the four judges.

Viewers were loving the pair, and couldn't believe that they were showing off their singing talents.

"I think Ant and Dec will win tonight’s show.. #BGT," joked one fan.

" @antanddec are on top form on @BGT! It is soooo good to have them back on my screen! An amazing opener, and sorry, Ant, but that mask gag *was* quite funny.... Love you both," penned another.

A third wrote: "And suddenly Saturday nights feel a bit more normal! @antanddec going full on Morecambe and Wise! Singing and dancing! LOVE IT!!! @BGT absolutely brill!."

On the contrary, some viewers weren't too impressed with the opening performance.

"And whoever allowed Ant and Dec to open the show with their warbling... #BGT," joked another.

"The irony of #AntAndDec singing terribly on a show called #BGT," wrote another.

Despite dividing viewers on their singing skills, the pair had the viewers united on their hilarious jokes as they introduced the acts throughout the evening.
