BGT's Amanda Holden in tears and swears after 'cruel' ordeal with 'dead child'

Amanda Holden swore live on air during tonight's Britain's Got Talent semi-final after being put through a horrifying ordeal.

The BGT judge apologised for shouting "f***" with children watching at home, but viewers claimed it was 'cruel' to put her through such misery.

Magician Elizabeth, who terrified Amanda during her creepy audition, left the BGT judge shaking with fear after another scary performance from The Haunting.

Amanda was led down flights of stairs into the depths of the studio and forced into a room with the 'dead child' of Agatha the ghost.

'Florence' started singing the same song that Amanda had picked from a book then grabbed her from behind.

Amanda screamed in horror, but it got worse as Agatha the ghost then smashed through the mirror.

"Oh my god, please don't hurt me," said Amanda with a trembling voice.

She was then led back up the stairs by Agatha, who then magically turned back into Elizabeth.

Some viewers managed to , but Amanda definitely did not.

When she turned round and saw Elizabeth standing behind her, Amanda screamed "f***" live on air.

The final twist was that the ghost was actually connected to Simon Cowell.

When Amanda was back in her seat, she said: "I just really want to apologise if I..."

Jumping in, Simon replied: "You did."

Amanda continued: "I know there's kids watching. A massive apology. I can honestly say I feel terrified. It's terrifying, amazing, thrilling. I wouldn't want anyone to go through that. It was amazing."

Simon joked: "We heard everything. It was like being next door to you on your honeymoon night."
