BGT's Alesha Dixon laughs off 'drunk' dig from David Walliams amid 'tension' rumours

Alesha Dixon laughed off a dig from fellow BGT judge David Walliams this evening that she had drunk too much amid rumours of "tension" between them.

Reports have suggested that things got "catty" between the pair during the semi-finals after Alesha made a comment about his Little Britain past.

Tonight, Alesha showed her full support for Diversity's BLM-inspired BGT performance after it garnered 24,500 complaints to Ofcom.

The 41-year-old judge looked stunning in her lemon off the shoulder gown, with a gold BLM necklace to complement the outfit.

But things could have become a little awkward when David made a quip towards her at the start of the show.

Host Declan Donnelly had asked her: "Alesha, a lot of acts... a lot at stake for them isn't it?"

Laughing and not quite knowing what to say, Alesha responded: "Ooh Dec, there's a lot at stake."

"Thank you for reiterating what I just said," Declan joked back.

But David interjected, wryly remarking: "I always think it's a mistake to drink a bottle of wine before you appear on television.

"Just have a glass! A glass next time, yeah?"

Things between the pair reportedly got heated backstage after Alesha mentioned David's Little Britain past, in which he used blackface and has since apologised for.

A source told The Sun: "It kicked off after the deliberation stages of putting one of the acts into the final.

“When the artist who Alesha had backed got through she basically turned to David and said, ‘Well that’s payback for all your inappropriate Little Britain antics’.

“It was quite catty, although Alesha later insisted she was only joking. But David was stunned.

"Obviously he is not racist or homophobic, or anything-phobic in the slightest — he was upset."

The insider added that words had been "exchanged" and that the rest of filming was very awkward afterwards.
