The PC who wowed Britain’s Got Talent with his hero dog hopes their stint on the show will build bridges between the public and police.
PC Dave Wardell said he was inspired to appear with Finn by 2016 winner Richard Jones, who was a magician and soldier.
Dave, watched by nine million viewers on Saturday, said: “Richard represented the armed forces so well.
"If we can show the pride of the police, and the amazing service animals, I hope the public will see what a proud service it is.
"We hope that maybe, just maybe if we can get across how amazing policing is, I know we don’t always get it right, but we do try.

The service animal was stabbed with a 10-inch blade after he jumped between Dave and an offender wielding a knife.
Finn suffered serious stab wounds to the chest and head but did not let go until reinforcements arrived, and was initially thought unlikely to survive.
The duo appeared on the talent show to perform an act in which Finn relays words chosen by the judges to his handler.
