Britain’s Got Talent is facing a watchdog investigation following complaints about judge Amanda Holden’s risqué dress last night.
The 48-year-old is known to make some daring fashion choices for her judging appearances, and her latest look has upset some viewers.
Ofcom received 22 complaints about Wednesday's show, with nine of those about Amanda’s semi-sheer gown.
Viewers branded the racy ‘spiderweb’ dress as “inappropriate for family viewing”, with one Twitter user claiming it left her feeling “slightly embarrassed”.
Speaking to the MailOnline, an Ofcom spokesperson said: “We are assessing these complaints against our broadcasting rules, but are yet to decide whether or not to investigate.”
The knockout floor length gown was created by Lebanese designer Nicolas Jebran for his SS17 collection and featured a striking floral print, sheer panels, a partial long-length cape and a fishtail hem.
For the dress’ full effect, Amanda went bra-less with just the spiderweb style embroidery covering her right nipple.
While some viewers appreciated her latest racy number, describing her as “a princess” and “stunning”, others weren’t quite as taken by the look.
One wrote: “Beautiful dress hun, but your boob is popping out with camera angles from the side.”
Another slammed: “An amazing dress but not really for family prime time TV.”
Another irate viewer tweeted: “Amanda it's a family show as lovely as your dress is it was not appropriate”, while another said: “Need to dress more appropriately for a family show!!!”
It’s not the first time Amanda’s saucy outfits have rubbed BGT viewers the wrong way.
The judge’s semi-final choice of a daring Julien McDonald gown with a plunging neckline and cut-out back panels two years ago led to a whopping 663 Ofcom complaints.
Despite the £11,000 dress coming under fire from the general public, the regulator decided against investigating, claiming that while risque, it “would not have exceeded most viewers' expectations”.
