Who are the BGT golden buzzer acts? From a 12-year-old superstar to an edgy comedian

Britain's Got Talent is finally back after months away from screens as the ITV show gears up to crown its 2020 champion.

When the UK went into lockdown in March, ITV were forced to abandon filming the live finals and semi-finals and instead postponed it until later in the year.

And the show has finally returned... but it will be slightly different.

Social distancing will be incorporated into filming and there will be a virtual audience instead of one in the studio.

While Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams will return for the live shows, Simon Cowell won't be as he continues to recover from his horrific injury in August.

Simon, 60, broke his back after falling from an electric bike, meaning that he won't be able to appear in the studio.

However, hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will be returning to present the show, as will this year's semi-finalists and finalists.

This year's golden buzzer acts have a ticket straight through to the finals - here's a reminder of who they are....

Who are the golden buzzer acts for 2020?

Simon pressed his buzzer for incredible singer Fayth Ifil, who is 12 years old.

Ant and Dec also pressed theirs, giving it to comedy singer Jon Courtenay.

Meanwhile, David was first to press his, awarding it to sign and sing group Sign Along With Us.

The penultimate judge to choose was Amanda Holden, who picked mother and daughter duo Honey and Sammy.

Finally, Alesha awarded hers to comedian Nabil Abdulrashid.

What is the golden buzzer?

If an act is awarded the golden buzzer at the end of their audition, it grants them a place in one of the live semi-finals of the show.

This means they skip past the bootcamp stage of the competition, giving them a head start.

The golden buzzer is pressed by a judge or host when they decide they want a particular audition to go straight through to the live shows.

This year, all of the golden buzzer acts have automatically made it through to the final.

Who gets a Golden Buzzer act?

All four judges, David, Alesha, Simon and Amanda, get to press the buzzer and secure an act.

Hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly share a buzzer.

All acts have now been announced, while the auditions still continue.

Britain's Got Talent airs tonight at 6.30pm on ITV
