BGT: Amanda Holden's tear-jerking Golden Buzzer confirmed as duo break hearts

Britain's Got Talent 2020 aired heartwarming scenes on Saturday night, as Amanda Holden pressed her Golden Buzzer.

The chosen act left viewers and Amanda herself in tears with their emotional performance.

Mum and daughter duo Sammy and Honey took to the stage to perform together, something 14-year-old Honey once feared wouldn't happen.

She broke down as she opened up to the judges about the past two years of her life being "tough" after her mother's cancer battle.

Sammy, 43, confirmed that fortunately she was doing much better now, with both of them feeling grateful to be where they were.

The audition didn't go to plan at first, as they sang a rendition of She Used to Be Mine from the musical Waitress.

While it did showcase the impressive vocals of Honey and Sammy, Simon didn't think the audition was good enough.

He asked them to plan another song and come back later, a move that would see them go on to win one of the Golden Buzzers.

Each judge get one each, while hosts Ant and Dec share one, and the buzzer sends the acts straight through to the live semi-finals.

As Sammy and Honey returned later on, they chose the Freya Ridings hit Lost Without You.

Both mum and daughter wowed the judges and viewers with their incredible vocals and moving performance, reducing Amanda to tears.

The pair burst into tears themselves as they were given a standing ovation, and huge praise from the judges.

Simon Cowell said the pair "deserved" their moment, while David Walliams called it "faultless".

Alesha Dixon said: "I loved the connection. There's nothing more beautiful than a mother/daughter relationship."

Amanda went on to praise the pair, tearfully adding: "Every single lyric you got right and sang just seemed so poignant to your story. It was the most wonderful thing to witness."

It's then that without warning she suddenly launched her hand at the buzzer and pressed it, releasing golden confetti.

As everyone cheered, and cried a little more, Sammy and Honey embraced each other before thanking Amanda.

Britain's Got Talent airs Saturdays at 8pm on ITV.
