While best known for her portrayal of Lois Lane, Canadian-born actress Margot Kidder had 135 acting credits in TV and film, according to IMDb. Here's a look at a few of her most recognized roles:

"Gaily, Gaily" - 1969

Her first big film role, in a comedy directed by Canadian filmmaker Norman Jewison.

 

"A Quiet Day in Belfast" - 1974

Kidder won the best performance by a lead actress Canadian Film Award for this war drama set in Ireland.

 

"Black Christmas" - 1974

This cult horror film also starring Andrea Martin got Kidder her second Canadian Film Award for best performance by a lead actress.

 

"Superman" - 1978; "Superman II" - 1980; "Superman III" - 1983

Kidder is synonymous with her iconic role as reporter Lois Lane opposite Christopher Reeve as Superman.
