Beyoncé writes impassioned letter demanding justice for Breonna Taylor

Beyoncé is demanding justice for Breonna Taylor, the 26-year-old black woman who was killed by police in Kentucky while she was in bed.

The musician penned a letter to Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron asking him to bring charges against the three officers involved, who were placed on administrative leave but have yet to be arrested.

Taylor was shot eight times while she was sleeping after the three officers entered her Louisville home in March.

The officers were executing a no-knock search warrant as part of a drug raid. Louisville's city council voted unanimously to ban this type of search warrant last week.

Beyoncé shared her personal letter about Taylor on her website's landing page. She wrote: "Three months have passed - and Breonna Taylor's family still waits for justice."

She said the legislation that has since been passed represented "small steps in the right direction," but said there was still "no justice for Breonna Taylor."

Beyoncé went on to urge the Kentucky attorney general to "demonstrate the value of a black woman's life," asking him to bring criminal charges against the police officers involved, commit to transparency in the investigation and investigate the response of the police to the shooting.

She wrote: "Don't let this case fall into the pattern of no action after a terrible tragedy" and ended the letter by saying, "This is your chance to end that pattern."

This isn't the first time Beyonce has spoken out about Breonna Taylor's death. On June 5, she shared a birthday card fo Taylor and urged her followers to sign the petition linked in her bio.
