Beyoncé set to walk away with 'the most wins ever' at tonight's Grammy Awards 2023

Beyoncé is set to walk away with the most Grammy Award wins ever at tonight's ceremony.

The chart-topper has been the most celebrated female solo artist in the history of the Grammy's for the last couple of years now and looks on course to further smash her own record tonight.

Beyoncé, 41, is also the joint record holder for the most nominations over the years from the prestigious award ceremony, with her husband Jay-Z holding that honour alongside her.

The couple both have a historical count of 88 nods for their work over the years, cementing them as true musical royalty.

However, Beyonce needs to win just four of the nine gongs she is nominated for this evening and she will become the most decorated Grammy-winning artist of all time.

The superstar will step out at the star-studded bash at Los Angeles Crypto Arena to see if she has overtaken producer Quincy who she is currently sharing second place with, both holding 28 Grammy wins under their belts.

She needs to surpass the late orchestral conductor Sir Georg Solti and his impressive 31 wins before he passed away in 1997 to grab herself the top winner spot.

Her nominations on the night are scattered across several categories including Best Song Written For Visual Media for her single Be Alive from the film King Richard.

Other nominations include Best Dance/Electronic Album and Album of the Year for her latest release Renaissance, and Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Dance/ Electronic Recording for the lead single from the album, Break My Soul.

Meanwhile, Plastic Off the Sofa is up for Best Traditional R&B Performance and album track Virgo's Groove has a nod for Best R&B Performance.

Beyoncé is also hotly tipped to be making a special comeback performance on the night, with Variety reporting that show producers have been in talks to get her to appear onstage as a treat for viewers on the night.

Renaissance, Bey's seventh studio album, was released back in July 2022, has a string of big-name producers and artists linked to it including Drake, Pharrell Williams, The Dream, Skrillex - and of course her husband Jay-Z.

Talking about the release for the September Icon issue of Harper's Bazarr last year Beyonce admitted that she had hoped to bring some light back into people's lives after the chaos of a pandemic and lockdowns.

She said: "With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again. I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible.

"I've been in the studio for a year and a half. Sometimes it takes a year for me to personally search through thousands of sounds to find just the right kick or snare. One chorus can have up to 200 stacked harmonies.

"Still, there's nothing like the amount of love, passion, and healing that I feel in the recording studio. After 31 years, it feels just as exciting as it did when I was nine years old. Yes, the music is coming!"
