Beyonce praises sister Solange after she composes music for the New York City Ballet

Beyoncé has expressed her pride in younger sister Solange after she became the first African-American woman to compose music for the New York City Ballet.

The 41-year-old took to Instagram to heap praise on her sibling, 36, and shared two photos of her at the event itself.

The first saw fellow artist Solange stepping out in a grey suit near the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, whilst a second showed her in front of a floral curtain after she had been presented with two stunning bouquets.

Revealing the news to her 276 million followers, the Bootylicious superstar wrote: " My beloved sister, there are no words to express the pride and admiration I have for you. You are a visionary and one of one.

"Congratulations on being the first African American woman to compose for the New York City Ballet. The piece you composed is phenomenal. I love you deep.

"Might I suggest you don’t f*** with my sis."

Followers were quick to offer their congratulations with one commenting: "An inspiration to us all."

Another added: "So much beauty and talent. Generational black excellence is lovely!"

A third replied: "She's so dope."

Khloe Kardashian, meanwhile, weighed in with: "Bravo queen!"

Solange later took to her own account on the social media platform to share ten photos from the evening, including shots of the Theatre and a carousel that included composition pages of her work.

In other snaps, the micro-braided star looked stunning as her suit was complemented by a pair of Lorraine Schwartz green stone earrings.

She captioned the images with 'heart so full' with a black heart on either side.

Also in attendance at the ballet was board member and Sex in the City star Sarah Jessica Parker, who was recognised for her vision and leadership.
