Beyonce pauses London show to share heartfelt message to rarely-seen son Sir and daughter Rumi

Beyoncé paid tribute to her youngest children, twins Rumi and Sir, during her latest London Cowboy Carter tour stop, marking their eighth birthday with a heartfelt on-stage moment.

While performing at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday night, the global superstar briefly paused her set to acknowledge the milestone, prompting thousands of fans to join in the celebration.

“Everybody say happy birthday, Rumi!” Beyoncé told the crowd, as seen in fan-captured footage shared on X (formerly Twitter).

Her eldest daughter, 13-year-old Blue Ivy, who is also part of the show as a backing dancer, was seen gently tapping her sister’s chin in an affectionate moment during the tribute.

“Say happy birthday, Sir!” Beyoncé added, before sweetly declaring: “Mommy loves you.”

It marked a rare public mention of Sir Carter, who—unlike his sisters—has largely remained out of the spotlight.

His twin sister Rumi, however, has made nightly appearances on stage throughout the tour since its April 28 stop at SoFi Stadium in California.

She also made her musical debut on Protector, a track from Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album, where she’s heard saying: “Mom, can I hear the lullaby please?”

Despite their fame, Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z have kept their son largely shielded from public life.

But in an interview last year, Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles offered a small glimpse into the twins’ personalities, telling E! News: “Rumi is amazing—an amazing artist, painter and creator… Sir is very quiet. [He] does all of the numbers stuff, so he's not into fashion as much.”

The London performance is part of Beyoncé’s blockbuster Cowboy Carter World Tour, which spans 32 dates and has already grossed more than $168.5 million.

Last week, Beyonce opened the UK leg of her Cowboy Carter tour — and suffered an unexpected wardrobe malfunction.

Mid-performance, the singer’s gold trousers fell to her ankles during a dance routine, exposing her leotard underneath.

Without missing a beat, Beyoncé kept going as a dancer quickly stepped in to help.

Elsewhere, it has been reported that the American superstar has been quietly distributing free tickets to her Cowboy Carter tour to low income families through London food banks.
