Beyonce concert uproots Hearts and Aberdeen clash but new kick-off time hands clubs streaming opportunity

Hearts' crunch third place game against Aberdeen next month has been moved forward two-and-a-half hours due to Beyonce's concert at Murrayfield on the same day.

Barry Robson's men currently hold a five point gap to their Edinburgh rival in the race to finish third in the Scottish Premiership. The game on May 20 at 3pm was not picked by Sky Sports meaning it couldn't be made available for pay-per-view due to Uefa's ban on live games being shown in the UK between 2.45pm and 5.15pm. The change of kick-off time though means fans unable to get a ticket for the game could get the chance to stream the match online if one of the clubs decide to take that up. Rangers' trip to Easter Road on Sunday, May 21 will instead be shown live on Sky Sport that weekend.

Fans from both teams hit out at the SPFL and the broadcaster for not choosing the match. The hierarchy at both clubs were contacted by Police Scotland and the local council about changing the kick-off time due to Beyonce's concert at Murrayfield on the same day.

Hearts boss Steven Naismith will be hoping to prevent a title party for Celtic at Tynecastle in the first post-split game. Ange Postecoglou's side are just one win away from clinching the league title for a second year in a row.

Aberdeen chief executive Alan Burrows took to Twitter to say: "The request to move the game came from the local authority in Edinburgh and the Police (to the SPFL) on the basis of a nearby event at Murrayfield later that day."

And a club statement from Hearts read: "Following discussions between the SPFL and the local authority, our cinch Premiership encounter with Aberdeen on Saturday, May 20th will now kick off at 12.30pm."
