Beyoncé And Taylor Swift Set To Break Billboard 200 Records.

Taylor Swift with beyonce

In the latest music news, Ariana Grande continues to dominate the Billboard 200 chart with her album Eternal Sunshine, holding the top spot for a second consecutive week. The album has sold an impressive 100,000 equivalent units in its second week at No. 1, solidifying Grande's position as a powerhouse in the pop music industry.

Eternal Sunshine made waves upon its debut, claiming the title for the largest debut on the Billboard 200 of 2024 with 227,000 equivalent units sold. This achievement surpassed the previous record held by Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign for their collaborative project Vultures 1, which opened at No. 1 with 148,000 equivalent units.

Despite Grande's current record-breaking success, her reign at the top may be short-lived as other highly-anticipated releases are on the horizon. Beyoncé is set to drop her new album Cowboy Carter, which is expected to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and has a strong chance of surpassing Grande's numbers.

Beyoncé's track record speaks for itself, with her previous album Renaissance debuting at No. 1 with 332,000 equivalent units in 2022. Her earlier albums, including her self-titled release and Lemonade, achieved even greater success with debut figures of 617,000 and 653,000 units respectively.

If Beyoncé's foray into country music with Cowboy Carter falls short of Grande's record, all eyes will turn to Taylor Swift and her upcoming album The Tortured Poets Department, scheduled for a mid-April release. Swift's previous album Midnights debuted at No. 1 with a staggering 1.578 million equivalent units, showcasing her immense popularity and influence in the music industry. Additionally, her re-recorded album 1989 (Taylor's Version) recently surpassed one million equivalent copies sold, further solidifying her status as a chart-topping artist.
