A mum has warned others to "beware" after youths launched an unprovoked attack on her 11-year-old daughter.
Ashleigh Law's daughter was in Victoria Park in Leith on Monday evening last week (26 August) when she was assaulted by a group of four boys.
Ashleigh told Edinburgh Live that the boys, thought to be between the ages of 11-13, pulled her daughter off the swing in the park and started kicking her while she was on the ground.
She said: "She will not got through the park anymore and is cautious about going out."
Photos of her daughter's injuries show her arms and back covered in bruises.
In a previous post to local Facebook group I Love Leith, she said "they attacked her for nothing", adding "I'm shocked that anyone would do this to someone".
Reacting to the post, another commented: "Do you know how old the kids were?
"My brother was with his friends there too a couple of weeks back and said other kids about same age as him or a year older (he's 12) were chasing them on bikes and essentially ran them out of the park.
"Could be the same culprits, he knew some of their names too if that helps anything?"
Another person wrote: "Awful, just awful. I hope your daughter will be ok."
