Bevan French set for Wigan Warriors return but Dom Manfredi misses Castleford clash

Bevan French is in line to make his first appearance of the season after being named in Adrian Lam's 21-man squad for Wigan's Super League clash with Castleford Tigers on Thursday.

The fullback missed out on selection last week following a slight back problem, but after Lam confirmed on Monday that French was fit and available to play, he has been included in his squad as the Warriors look to maintain their unbeaten start to the new campaign.

Lam has made one change to his squad, with prop Liam Byrne coming back into the squad after serving a one-match suspension last week. He replaces youngster Sam Halsall.

Club captain Thomas Leuluai is included, despite being a fitness doubt due a sternum problem. That could pave the way for French to potentially play in the halves, allowing Zak Hardaker to remain at fullback following his impressive start to the season in French's absence.

Dom Manfredi is still out following a further injury to the hand problem which has kept him out so far this season, while Oliver Gildart, Jai Field and Liam Marshall all remain absent.

Opponents Castleford have made two changes to their 21-man squad. Jesse Sene-Lefao is out due to suspension, while Gareth O'Brien drops out of Daryl Powell's squad due to a knee injury. He is replaced in the squad by Danny Richardson, while younger Brad Martin is called up for the first time this season.
