The bettors are putting their money where their mouth is when it comes to the Cleveland Browns and Baker Mayfield. The Browns and the franchise QB have become media darlings over the last few months, and it seems the fans are willing to bet it’s no fluke.
According to the latest update from David Purdum at ESPN, who covers the wagering market, the Browns are a hot ticket. So is Baker Mayfield as a potential MVP.
Only the Chicago Bears have more money invested in them to win Super Bowl LIV. Chicago is currently at 9-1 to win, while the Browns are a hair lower at 10-1.
Mayfield has more money wagered on him than any other player for NFL Most Valuable Player.
“They’re going wild on Baker Mayfield,” said SuperBook vice president of risk management Ed Salmons, who noted that more than $40,000 had already been bet on his shop’s NFL MVP odds.
The ESPN piece notes the sportsbooks in question are in Las Vegas, and that regional books on the east coast tend to see a little more action on the Philadelphia Eagles.
