'Better than Saka!' - Tottenham fans in awe of Bryan Gil's performance for Spain U21s

Tottenham enjoyed an extremely successful summer transfer window.

Footballing director Fabio Paratici was able to offload several ageing senior players, with the likes of Moussa Sissoko, Erik Lamela and Toby Alderweireld all sold after successful stints at the club.

The former Juventus transfer chief also was able to sign five players as Italian goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini joined on loan whilst centre-half Cristian Romero, fullback Emerson Royal, winger Pape Sarr and playmaker Bryan Gil were all signed on a permanent basis.

With the transfer window now closed, Spurs head coach Nuno Espirito Santo can bed his youngsters into the team, which is currently top of the Premier League after winning all three of their opening league fixtures whilst also keeping a clean sheet in all three games.

Now, several members of the Lillywhites' squad are currently on international duty and the aforementioned Gil produced an eye-catching display for Spain's Under-21 side.

The diminutive wideman was in fine form, registering an assist as La Rojita won 4-1 against Lithuania in their Euro 2023 qualifying match, a performance that caught the eyes of a number of Tottenham supporters on social media.

Here is how a select few reacted to his performance on Twitter.

@Tangangsta25 : "Bruh Bryan Gil is so good."

@thfcscar : "better than saka."

@thfcology : "bryan Cruyff."

@Savage_Spurs : Bryan Gil is literally dominating Lithuanian defense it's not even funny."

@Spursofficial_1 : "Such a good player."

Gil will surely be hoping his performance could hand him his first start for Tottenham this weekend as the north Londoners travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The 20-year-old's chances of playing are also boosted by the fact that Heung Min-Son may be unavailable after missing South Korea's World Cup qualifier against Lebanon on Tuesday after sustaining a calf injury.
