"Better days are coming", Newcastle United director's Christmas Day message to supporters

Newcastle United director Jamie Reuben has thanked the club's fanbase on Christmas Day and sent a positive message ahead of what many hope can be a positive 2022.

The former Queens Park Rangers board room member joined the club in October 2021 along with Amanda Staveley and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund but accepts that the start of the new era has been far from easy.

Having opted to change manager in October and then replace Steve Bruce with Eddie Howe at the start of last month the club have yielded just one win.

But Reuben hopes that good times are just around the corner, and took time out to send a message to supporters over the festive period.

Reuben told fans on Christmas Day: "I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of our incredible supporters in Newcastle and around the world for the support they have shown us and the team this season.

"It's greatly appreciated.

"I know at times it has been tough but better days are coming.

"I also want to recognise the incredible generosity shown by our fans towards the Newcastle Food Bank which has provided invaluable support to those most in need in our community.

"It shows once again that we aren't just a football club but the heart of a great city.

"I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and I look forward to seeing you soon at St James' Park."
