BetOnline has Ohio State winning ten regular season games in 2019

Under Urban Meyer, ten wins during the regular season was an almost guarantee for Ohio State. With all the talent streaming in from the four corners of the country, the Buckeyes had it rolling. In the seven years Meyer was wearing the headset, OSU had 12 (2012), 12 (2013), 11 (2014), 11 (2015), 11 (2016), 11 (2017), and 11 (2018) in regular season play.

That’s flat out getting it done, and it’s pretty crazy that the Buckeyes didn’t find a way to win another national title or two somewhere in there.

Now Ryan Day is taking over, and the prevailing consensus is that there’s going to be a wee-bit of a slide in Columbus. Day has been doing his best to prove everyone wrong with some fantastic recruiting and an ability to put together one heck of a staff, but he’s still unproven.

Count BetOnline — a popular betting sportsbook — in the same light as others. It came out with projected win totals for the 2019 college football season, and it believes OSU will win ten games total for the regular season, the least it’s won in eight years.

Somewhat surprisingly, a projected ten wins leads the Big Ten, with Michigan just behind at 9.5, and both Wisconsin and Penn State at 8.5. With win totals like that, that would project the Buckeyes as potential Big Ten champions but needing some help to get into the College Football Playoff.

Of course, whether the two losses come in conference play or in non-conference play would play a big part in any postseason prospects. And nobody wants to be in yet another tie-break scenario that could result in one less showcase game to play on further.

Let’s see if Ohio State can bust through expectations this year.
