The very first Beth Tweddle Gymnastics Centre has opened its doors in Bolton and children can book a taster session for free.
A state-of-the-art gymnastics facility, it is based upstairs in the DW Sports Fitness unit on Manchester Road, Burnden Retail Park.
It aims to offer families 'a unique gymnastics journey with a team of experienced coaches, online progress tracking and more'.
Beth Tweddle programmes run elsewhere at partner venues such as leisure centre, gyms and schools across Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire, but this is the first purpose built centre.
Families can book on for free taster sessions on the various programmes - Baby Stars, for tots under two; Gym Stars, for those aged two to seven; and the Academy Programme for ages eight plus.
As Britain’s greatest ever-female gymnast, Beth Tweddle’s impressive achievements include being an Olympic Bronze Medalist, a triple World Champion, a six-time European Champion, a Commonwealth Champion and seven-times consecutive National Champion.
Speaking about the new centre, she said: "My passion is to create opportunities for all children to try gymnastics and be the best that they can be, which is why I am so excited to have opened our brand new gymnastics centre to the Bolton community.
"Sport is so much more than staying active. For children, it's making new friends, finding their confidence, learning to support one another and working towards milestones and rewards."
"After being stuck at home in lockdown for the past few months, it's been great seeing local families at the centre and we've already seen hundreds of smiling faces walk through our doors and can't wait to see more."
