Beth Ditto was arrested on Friday night after allegedly kicking a barman in the groin. The Gossip singer was reportedly found drunk and screaming in the street, resulting in a charge of disorderly conduct.

Ditto was arrested after an incident at the Bungalo Bar in Portland, Oregon, which boasts "cheap drinks", "fire pits" and a "huge whiskey selection". Ditto – real name Mary Beth Patterson – seems to have been making the most of St Patrick's Day weekend: after several drinks, the inebriated singer was refused service, according to the Willamette Week. She then reportedly marched outside, planting herself in the centre of North Mississippi Avenue. "[She] threw off her shoes and purse and screamed, 'OBAMA! OBAMA!'" a source told the paper. "Friends arrived to try to put her in a car."

Another witness, writing on Reddit, offered even more colourful details. "My friends and I were trying to enjoy a nice night out and she ruined it.

"[Ditto] came up to me and starting to pinch my cheeks (what the fuck?) so I got up from the table and moved to another seat," the Reddit user said. "Didn't stop her from coming over to me to continue the harassment." When he asked Ditto to stop, he claimed she told him to "Google [her]".

"Fifteen minutes later she was arrested … The bartender called the police because she kicked him in the balls."

About a dozen police cars finally pulled up and booked the 32-year-old. Although she was released that night, Ditto's class B misdemeanor charge is punishable by a fine of up to $2,500 (£1,653) and up to six months in jail, the Portland Mercury reported. A court date is forthcoming.
