Betfred Cup: Rangers 0 Celtic 1 as Kilmarnock remain last side to beat Hoops in final

Kilmarnock remain the last team to beat Celtic in a cup final after Rangers failed to put them to the sword this afternoon at Hampden.

A Dieter Van Tornhout header gave the Rugby Park side a 1-0 win back in 2012 in the League Cup final.

However, Celtic have had an unblemished record in finals since.

The Hoops ran out 1-0 winners today despite a dominant performance from Rangers.

Celtic registered just one shot on target in the game, but it proved to be decisive, as Christopher Jullien's strike at the back post flew in the bottom corner in the second half.

Rangers could have quickly equalised as they were awarded a penalty and Celtic were reduced to 10 men when Jeremie Frimpong was sent-off.

But Alfredo Morelos was left devastated as his spot-kick was well saved by an inspired Fraser Forster.
