Hearts have been drawn at home to Aberdeen in the Betfred Cup quarter-finals.
The Jambos booked their spot in the last eight with a 2-1 win over Motherwell on Friday night.
After a poor couple of results in their opening two Ladbrokes Premiership matches, Craig Levein's team turned in a much improved performance to overcome the Steelmen on their own patch.
Sean Clare’s early penalty miss didn’t throw them off their stride as Michael Smith’s sweet strike put them ahead before Conor Washington bagged his first goal in maroon from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time.
Motherwell pulled one back in the second half through sub Chris Long, but didn’t do nearly enough to put Hearts in much danger of surrendering their lead and place in the last eight.
Their reward for that is a tie against Aberdeen at Tynecastle. Ties will be played on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 of September.
The sides met on the opening weekend of the Ladbrokes Premiership season at Pittodrie. Hearts came from behind to lead 2-1, but ended up losing 3-2 thanks to Aaron Hickey's late sending off and Cevlid Dikamona conceding a penalty.
