Betfred Cup frustration for supporters as streaming partner issues apology over locked out fans

The streaming partner of various lower league clubs issued an apology after fans were left frustrated during their Betfred Cup matches.

Dumbarton have shared a statement from Pixellot after fans were unable to watch their League Cup match against Dunfermline.

The Sons lost 1-0 at The Rock, and they were one of a number of clubs whose supporters endured streaming issues on Tuesday night.

The club revealed that they will look at offering refunds as they tweeted a statement from Pixellot.

The statement read: "Pixellot is extremely sorry that many fans were unable to access the live streams that took place tonight.

"The cause of this is currently unknown, despite continuous efforts to bring the platforms back online from the moment we became aware of the issue.

"Multiple services that we were providing were affected. We will continue to investigate this and as soon as the cause for this is known, we will communicate this accordingly."

The League One side added: "We're aware that fans of both teams received last night's stream but are now looking at our own records to confirm who was affected and how we can reconcile /refund affected parties going forward.

"We will provide updates when we can."

Jim Duffy's side face Clyde on Saturday at Broadwood in their next League Cup match.
