Analyst’s darlings FUT take on the chaotic Russian side in BetBoom to earn their playoffs berth at IEM Cologne 2026. While FUT’s run started with an expected loss to Vitality, the results since have left much to desire, with even their MOUZ and B8 wins being too close for comfort.
Meanwhile, BetBoom took massive wins over MongolZ and Falcons, before facing both 3-0 teams in FURIA and Vitality. While FUT would be favored in the match before the Major started, BetBoom’s run has been nothing but stellar. Can Boomb14’s troops complete the Cinderella run?

FUT’s teamplay-led brand of Counter-Strike has been built entirely on the foundation of their immense firepower. The rifling trio of lauNX dziugss and dem0n can go toe to toe with the very best, without even mentioning the scene’s strongest firing IGL in Krabeni. But the team has run into another firepower dense squad in the 2-2 match up.
BetBoom’s littany of visa issues has seen the team field different rosters in the various recent events. But despite the changes, they have continued to make waves. Their win over Vitality at IEM Atlanta was a big part of the latter’s first finish outside the top four in nearly 18 months. And at Cologne, the team was forced to bring in FL4MUS over s1ren, bolstering their firepower evermore. Fireworks are guaranteed, but only one team can remain standing.

Mirage – Eleven round CT-hold keeps FUT away – 13-7
As predicted, the early rounds of Mirage were a series of duels, with BetBoom emerging ahead 2-1 before the first rifle round. Once rifles were out though, Boomb14 and co. showed off their depth of firepower, keeping FUT out of the bombsites. With a 1-6 deficit, FUT coach coolio called his first timeout, calming down his troops. That timeout nearly paid out, as B-site pushes from Magnojez and d1Ledez were both punished.

Unfortunately for FUT, Boomb14 himself stepped up to the plate in the 2v3, and took three kills to close out the team’s seventh. That round seemingly fired up the IGL, who erected a blue wall to earn a 11-1 half.

With coolio giving his troops a stern talking to, FUT came into the second half refreshed. That quickly netted them five rounds in a row starting with the pistol. The stars were all fired up on the FUT side, as the team’s famous roars joined the audience’s cheers. BetBoom was switching between full and pistol buys, and somehow it was the latter that netted them their 12th round, thanks to Boomb14’s Tec9. While FUT took one more round in the half, Boomb14’s 19-frag total closed out the map 13-7.
Dust2 – T-side falls flat for FUT – 13-7
FUT cleared through the B-site to open Dust2, but BetBoom forced with rifles to snatch the momentum. That put FUT’s economy under pressure, and Magnojez picked up an ace against USPs to secure a 3-1 lead. With a full buy out, FUT were able to hold onto the A-site, and IGL Krabeni wiped the rest of BetBoom out on B. The two teams remained neck and neck, as both sides were showcasing their aim in successive rounds.

FUT finally took the lead in round nine, but Boomb14 picked up his teammate’s AWP in the following, wiping out two from B tunnels. That meant that once again BetBoom were in the lead at halftime, this time with just a two round difference.
While the first half was competitive, the second was anything but. While FUT took away the pistol round again, zorte’s FAMAS was able to clutch out on B, off the back of a miraculous Boomb14 call. Having shown his tactical strenght, Boomb14 then jumped around short to mow down three and secure a ninth for his squad as well.

The economy for FUT was in the bin at this point, and BetBoom were playing at a phenomenal level. The Russian side quickly racked up 12 on the board, and put FUT on elimination point. Much like Mirage, the youngster extended play for a bit longer, but ultimately there wasn’t much they could do to hold off BetBoom.
