Bestselling author and journalist Malcolm Gladwell to present new book in Dublin's Olympia Theatre

Bestselling author and journalist Malcolm Gladwell will be coming to Dublin next month to present his new book.

The Canadian native, who has written five international bestsellers, will present his new book Talking to Strangers at The Olympia Theatre on November 29 in conjunction with the Dalkey Book Festival.

He is also the host of the podcast Revisionist History and is a staff writer at The New Yorker.

Gladwell was named one of the 100 most influential people by Time magazine and one of the Foreign Policy's Top Global Thinkers.

His new book deals with questions such as: How do we make sense of the unfamiliar? Why are we so bad at judging someone, reading a face, or detecting a lie? Why do we so often fail to 'get' other people?

In a powerful and provocative exploration of why we so often misread other people, Gladwell takes us on a journey through the unexpected.

From the spy who spent years undetected at the highest levels of the Pentagon, to the suicide of the poet Sylvia Plath, we discover that strangers are never simple.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, October 4, from Ticketmaster at 9am.
