Just like any other position you can choose for your player in College Football 26’s Road to Glory mode, the wide receiver position has a set of Archetypes you can choose from when first starting a playthrough. This Archetype determines the initial attributes and abilities that your player has access to, and while it won’t limit them from picking up other skills, this decision does hold significant weight.
You’ll spend the first one or two years of your college career sticking with this general Archetype before you can transform into a true all-around receiver. So, you want to ensure that you get your decision right; otherwise, you might want to start a new Road to Glory playthrough altogether.

We chose the Contested Specialist WR as our top Archetype due to the spread of its attributes. It has great quickness, hands, route running, elusiveness, and power attributes. While its IQ attribute lags a little behind, that’s arguably the least important attribute for a WR to have.
In a close second, we have the Speedster and Gadget WR Archetypes, as both of those boast tremendous speed and elusiveness while not giving up too much in the other attributes.
