From the best Easter eggs to the finest hot cross buns, we’ve been busy rounding up the best seasonal treats but, when hosting comes with a long to-buy list, finding a good deal is always a welcome bonus.

Enter Sainsbury’s, which has rolled out a host of wine offers just in time for the long weekend. Whether you favour crisp whites or rich, jammy reds, there’s something to suit every palate – and plenty of bottles at a discounted price. For example, at the time of writing, you will receive 25 per cent off when you buy six or more bottles from a selection.

Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Île-de-Beauté rosé

The Independent's wine columnist, Rosamund Hall, recommended this rosé from Sainsbury’s remarking: “While the nose may be a little restrained, there's an abundance of flavour and excitement on the palate in this dry, delicate rosé.”

Graham Beck chardonnay pinot noir

A name that is frequently recommended by wine experts, Graham Beck’s brut sparkling wine combines Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes to promise light yeasty aromas, limey fresh fruit on the nose and rich creamy complexity on the palate.

Mirabeau Pure Côtes De Provence rosé wine

“It’s a beautiful coral pink and leaps out of the glass with bright strawberry, citrus and floral notes. It’s a cracker, and a bit show off – what's not to love?”

Trivento Malbec reserve red wine

Newlands Point sauvignon blanc white wine

If the bank holiday calls for a crisp white, the Newlands Point sauvignon blanc white wine ticks the boxes.
