Fans of the new Call of Duty: Vanguard has had the weekend to play and experiment with different loadouts.
Players have also had the weekend to level up their accounts which can provide opportunities to try new weapons that opponents may not have yet, giving you an edge over the competition.
From launch, dozens of weapons in Vanguard have been made available which span across very different categories.
While the wide variety of weapons provides plenty of flexibility in play style, it also means that it can be difficult to know which ones are better than others.
The developers of Call of Duty do try to make weapons in the game balanced but it's hard to cover everything and some weapons always come out on top, at least until an update is brought in to change the meta.
Regardless of whether you prefer the close-combat functionality of SMGs or like to keep your distance with Tactical Rifles, there is a gun for each category that comes out on top.

MP1928 - SMG
The MP1928 can be unlocked once your account reaches level 20.
It has a very high rate of fire while also coming equipped with a sizeable magazine in its stock form.
Its bullet velocity makes it a good choice for close-quarter and medium-range combat.
STG44 - Assault Rifle
The STG44 can be unlocked very early on at level 11 and is the perfect starter weapon for new players.
It has an impressive rate of fire that deals high damage, making it a good all-rounder for different combat situations at any distance.
Before looking to unlock more advanced ARs, the STG44 will certainly carry you a long way.
DP27 - Light Machine Gun
The DP27 can be unlocked at level 18 and should be a familiar weapon for any LMG fan.
This heavyweight weapon carries a significant magazine size and deals large amounts of damage.
While this LMG won't allow for quick manoeuvres it makes for it with pinpoint accuracy at long ranges while also providing burst fire alongside full-auto.
Einhorn Revolving - Shotgun
The Einhorn Revolving can be unlocked at level 11 and is perfect for close-quarter encounters.
The revolving cylinder on this weapon allows it to deal high damage with a fast rate of fire and quick reload speeds - essentially all you want in a shotgun.
While it lacks a decent magazine size, it can essentially one shot enemies - timing your kills and reloads are essential for using this.
Type 99 - Sniper Rifle
The Type 99 is available straight out the gate at level 1 and is very close to the popular Swiss K31.
As a highly mobile weapon, this sniper is perfect for those wanting to freely move around the map while hitting the long shots.
With a fast ADS, this weapon could eliminate enemies very quickly but requires you to have perfect accuracy.
