Best Weapon combos and Tome combos in Megabonk

Megabonk is a game about winning with whatever Weapons and Tomes the game offers you. While you can manipulate these choices with Banish, Refresh, and Skip, you'll rarely be able to pull off the perfect combo of upgrades that will give you an overpowered build.

If you fail to replicate the best builds in Megabonk in your run, it's useful to know which Weapons and Tomes make good combos regardless of other items. Since each Weapon has its own set of stats, you should try to match those that have the same stats so a single Item or Tome affects all your weapons at once instead of just one or two.

Here are the best Weapon and Tome combos in Megabonk.

Best Weapon Combos

All weapon combos listed below work even when incomplete. For example, if you're trying to go for the Dice + Bow + Revolver combo but can only find Bow and Revolver, do it anyway because these two weapons pair well even without the third.

  • Dexecutioner + Katana + Bananarang for a melee Size and Crit Damage build. Dexecutioner and Katana benefit greatly from Critical Chance and Size, while Bananarang is an amazing weapon that will protect your character efficiently with Size boosts as well.
  • Aura + Flamewalker + Black Hole for area damage and clears. Aura's area damage around your character makes it the best beginner weapon in Megabonk, while Flamewalker adds extra damage in area as you walk. Black Hole will also grow with Size and help keep enemies further away. Add Aegis for extra protection.
  • Firestaff + Bow + Revolver for an early-game Projectiles combo. This combo works great on Fox and Robinette.
  • Wireless Dagger + Bones + Revolver + Lightning Staff for Projectile Bounce. Who needs area damage when every single projectile you use is constantly bouncing to other enemies? This is essentially an area-clear weapon combo at range.
  • Sword + Tornado + Bones for Knockback. If you just want to keep enemies away from you, invest in Attack Speed with this combo, and you won't be swarmed so easily by the mobs.
  • Dice + Revolver + Bow + Katana for all Projectile Boosts and Crit Damage. If you want to unleash bullet hell on your enemies, this combo will just keep shooting and wiping enemies on the screen, at range, non-stop. If anyone gets close, Katana will deal with them.
  • Sword + Hero's Sword + Corrupted Sword for the master sword set. They all get better with Projectile Count, Knockback, and Size, so it's a more late-game combo for the Knockback build.

Best Tome Combos

Just like with Weapons, these Tome combos work together even when incomplete. If you find two instead of three, just go with them.

  • XP + Luck + Cursed + Damage Tomes - Often the ideal combo for Tier 2 and 3 runs if you're an intermediate or experienced player. This combo will let you gain more XP, increase the number of enemies so you can drop more XP crystals, and increase the rarity of your upgrades, all while increasing your Damage. If you're a beginner playing a Tier 1 map, drop the Cursed Tome for another one that synergizes with your Weapon combo.
  • Armor + Thorns + Shield + HP Regen Tomes - If you want to be a massive tank, Armor and Shield Tomes make you survive more hits, more often. Add the Thorns Tome in, and you have passive damage from enemies hitting you.
  • Quantity + Damage + Cooldown Tomes - A great combo for projectile-based builds using Bow, Revolver, and similar weapons. Quantity increases the number of projectiles, Cooldown increases Attack Speed, and Damage will make you hit enemies harder. Depending on your weapons, you can add Precision Tome for Crit Chance or Size Tome for larger projectiles.
  • Bloody Tome gets an honorable, standalone mention, as it can fit all combos above to give you lifesteal, which is essential against swarms and boss fights in later levels.
