Long Shot kills in Black Ops 7 are a crucial part of weapon mastery and camo challenges, as they require players to eliminate enemies from specific distances depending on their weapon class.
For sniper rifles, this distance is a bit more than assault rifles, SMGs, and marksman rifles, where kills need to be made at around 30 to 40 meters. Due to the smaller size of many multiplayer maps, getting long-shot kills can be challenging.
However, with the right strategies, weapons, attachments, and game modes, you can consistently achieve these kills. Here’s everything you need to know about the best ways to get Long Shot kills in Black Ops 7.

How to get Long Shot kills in Black Ops 7
In Black Ops 7, different weapons require different minimum distances for Long Shot kills:
- Sniper rifles need 50 meters or more
- Assault rifles need 38 meters or more
- Marksman rifles need 38 meters or more
- LMGs also need 38 meters or more
- SMGs need 30 meters
- Shotguns need 12.5 meters or more
- Pistols need 20 meters or more

Since SMGs, Pistols, and Shotguns are not that effective when the range starts to increase, they need the lowes distance of all weapons to achieve Long Shot kills, at a minimum of 30, 20, and 12.5 meters, respectively.

Play the right game modes
Hardcore game modes are the most suitable for long shots because lower enemy health makes kills from distance easier and faster.
Objective-based modes like Hardpoint and Domination will help you take control of hotspots and predictable lines of sight, which will increase your chances for long-range engagements.

Get the right weapon loadouts for long shots
Use weapons with high bullet velocity and range, such as the M8A1 or M34 Novaline marksman rifles, or sniper rifles like the VS Recon. Four weapons in BO7 require Long Shot medals for BO7 Multiplayer camo challenges: M8A1, M34 Novaline, Shadow SK, and XR-3 Ion. Use them and get the camos unlocked to use in matches.
Equip barrels that boost bullet velocity to reduce bullet drop over distance. Attach grips and stocks that improve recoil control and stability to maximize accuracy on long-range shots. Opt for scopes or optics that offer clean, clear sight pictures at range, such as the LT1 Mini.
Also, try positioning yourself on high ground. In that way, you will get clear sightlines to open areas. Patience is the key: wait for enemies to appear in your line of sight rather than aggressively rushing. Also, try quick and precise shots, as once you miss, you’ll lose the opportunity to get a Long Shot kill.
