7 best TV shows streaming June 21-27 on Netflix, Disney Plus, Apple TV Plus and more streaming services

It's a big week for fans of bingeable series because there are several big new shows hitting streaming this week, and we'll help you find the cream of the crop.

I'm What to Watch's streaming editor and every week I create a curated list of the top shows coming to the best streaming services. This week, I'm looking at series coming out between Saturday, June 21 and Friday, June 27.

All in one week we've got some of the biggest summer shows so you're going to be spoiled for choice. Saying that there's definitely an emphasis on drama and thrillers with one dating show and no documentaries.

So let's find you something new to watch on streaming services this week...

The Gilded Age season 3 — Max / Sky TV

  • Period drama series returns from Sunday, June 22

Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes' next show returns when The Gilded Age season 3 returns. Episodes release weekly on Max from Sunday, June 22 in the US, and in the UK they'll show on Sky TV and Now TV weekly from Monday, June 23.

In The Gilded Age, we follow two rival families in 1880s New York City, one a new money family and the other old blood. By the time of season 3 one family has nearly come out on top as the most important in society, but to cement their reputation, they'll have to take some big games.

Ironheart — Disney Plus

The latest Marvel Cinematic Universe TV show arrives this week in Ironheart. This comes to Disney Plus with three episodes on Tuesday, June 24 and subsequent releases of one per week afterwards.

Ironheart is about Riri Williams, a Chicago girl and genuis inventor who's made a brief appearance in the MCU already. She invents an Iron Man-style suit of armor to protect her city and finds herself up against a magic-wielding vigilante who commands a gang of young activists who may or may not be up to no good.

The Ultimatum: Queer Love season 2 — Netflix

The one non-fiction series this week comes from Netflix, which debuts The Ultimatum: Queer Love season 2 on Wednesday, June 25. Episodes will land "over two weeks" according to Netflix, which hasn't specified if that means 'in two chunks' or more scattered.

Following established format, The Ultimatum sees six couples taken to Miami where a series of conversations follow one partner giving another an ultimatum to commit to marriage or get out. Queer Love of course sees same-sex couples and in this season they'll embark on activities including parasailing and poolside chats.

Countdown — Prime Video

The latest in Prime Videos busy line of action-thrillers is Countdown, which will debut on Amazon's streamer with its first three episodes, on Wednesday, June 25. New episodes will drop on a weekly basis from then.

Jensen Ackles stars as LAPD Mark Meachum who, in the wake of the killing of a law enforcement official, is drafted into a secret task force consisting of representatives from various agencies. Their task? Stop a nuclear disaster plot which is threatening Los Angeles, and untangle the conspiracy which is putting said plan in motion.

The Bear season 4 — Hulu / Disney Plus

A tasty (and award-winning) chef drama returns when The Bear season 4 lands in its entirety on Wednesday, June 25. You canw atch it on Hulu in the US and on Disney Plus basically everywhere else.

In The Bear we meet Carmy, a hotshot chef who returns to his hometown of Chicago to run his family's struggling sandwich shop, despite pushback from its staff and his family. In season 4 one of his main staff members, Sydney, needs to decide whether she stays or leaves the shop behind, while the venue's financial situation becomes ever more precarious.

Squid Game season 3 — Netflix

Netflix's smash hit returns for its final run of episodes this week. Squid Game season 3 debuts on Friday, June 27, and you'll be able to watch every episode on that date.

If you somehow missed it, Squid Game is about a deadly underground game that puts down-on-their-luck contestants through a series of bloody challenges in hope of winning a jackpot that'll turn their life around. However by season 3 one former winner has begun a quest to end the bloodshed, which has prompted the games' master to join the proceedings and has put them head-tohead.

Smoke — Apple TV Plus

Apple TV Plus ends our week with a brand-new thriller from the Black Bird team. Smoke gets its first two episodes on Friday, June 27 and new ones will hit the streamer weekly going forward with 9 in total.

In Smoke, a detective played by Jurnee Smollett is paired up with an arson investigator played by Taron Egerton, in order to get to the bottom of a spate of arson attacks across the Pacific Northwest. However the latter is hiding big secrets which burn under the surface, and the investigation could be waylaid by these troubles.
