Tony McZoom is a pretty unique character in Megabonk, but mastering him can be tricky.
The character has its own share of strengths and weaknesses. You can add him by unlocking his weapon and completing any two challenges of your liking. Let's look at how to build him efficiently in the game and maximize his strengths.

How to unlock Tony McZoom in Megabonk
You'll have to complete any two challenges in Megabonk to clear one of the two unlock conditions. The challenge can be any two of your liking. To access challenges, clear the tier 1 map with any available character.
You can then start a tier 1 run with any one challenge enabled. Complete the requirement, and repeat the process. You'll also need to gain access to Wireless Dagger. For this part, you'll need to reach Level 15 on any single run with Lightning Staff. This isn't a difficult task, as the Lightning Staff is a strong weapon. It works well with most builds, and you'll want to target a run that stretches for around 30 minutes to clear the condition.
Once both tasks are done, you can unlock Tony McZoom from the shop.
Best Megabonk Tony McZoom build
Tony McZoom is a pretty mobile character who does plenty of damage to compensate for his lack of defence. The build below will help you to enhance his strengths and bypass the limitations of his kit.
Type | Best Choices | Good Choices |
---|---|---|
Weapons | Wireless Dagger (primary) Lightning Staff Aura Aegis |
Firestaff Revolver |
Tomes | Projectile Speed Quantity Size Damage |
Luck Cooldown Agility |
Items | Forbidden Juice Gym Sauce Turbo Socks Turbo Skates |
Clover Lightning Orb Moldy Cheese |
Wireless Dagger is a projectile-based weapon that throws smart knives at enemies. It has a decent range, but you can further improve it. It also has a unique passive by creating a charged attack around McZoom as he floats on his hoverboard. The passive also grants him 2% Pickup Range per level.

Like all other characters in the game, McZoom also benefits from levelling up quickly. This is the main reason behind my selection of Aura, but Lightning Staff should be equally good. Wireless Dagger is strong, but not strong enough to solo carry you against more challenging enemies. Aegis is a decent shout if you want a solid option in the latter stages, when enemy spawn rates will be higher.
Projectile Speed, Quantity, and Size are almost mandatory if you're going for a Wireless Dagger + Lightning Staff build. It raises the number of projectiles you fire while increasing the velocity of each shot. Having larger projectiles helps take down stronger enemies with greater damage.
If you opt for Agility, go with Turbo Socks and Turbo Skates. While one boosts the movement speed, the other converts the additional speed into damage. Forbidden Juice helps raise the crit chance rate, while Gym Saunce is an excellent boost to all forms of damage.
Ultimately, Tony McZoom isn't the easiest of characters to master. It takes a fair amount of time to unlock him. His movement patterns are slightly haphazard in nature, adding to the difficulty. My build, however, will help you to negate his weaknesses well, and you shouldn't have any problem using him on higher-tier maps.
