SGX has low recoil, making it easier to control in mid-range gunfights. While you can build it into hipfire, these attachments lean into fast ADS gameplay. This is mainly due to the dynamic nature of large-scale battles, which can shift from point-blank to medium range in a split second, and you want to be effective in both.

Because the base recoil is considerably low, the Standard Suppressor is a good option to hide you from the minimap as much as possible. It allows for more unexpected plays when fighting up close, leaving the opponent less time to react to your presence. If you still want that extra recoil, you can equip a Double-Port Brake or Compensated Brake instead.
The 8″ Extended barrel improves ADS speed and muzzle velocity—it’s fast and snappy. The 6″ Fluted barrel offers more mobility and accuracy while ADS, and can also be a decent option once you reach Mastery level 34.
On the underbarrel, this build doubles down on ADS speed while slightly reducing recoil with Ribbed Stubby. You could opt for a more standard Canted Stubby or 6H64 Vertical to gain more precision and control, but that goes slightly against the faster playstyle this build leans into. You might as well use a rifle like the M433 or M4A1 in that case.
Lastly, a 36-round magazine is more consistent at tackling multiple enemies when charging onto an objective, and the scope is personal preference.

SGX works well on any class, so pick one that suits your preferred playstyle. The Engineer has submachine guns as a signature weapon category, but we went with Assault for a more aggressive close-quarters playstyle.

Depending on the mode, you can swap it for the Deploy Beacon or the M87A1 shotgun, which is still a deadly option to use instead of reloading. M320A1 HE or M320A1 THRM are both great at dealing with infantry. Use the HE one for high-impact damage and the THRM one for additional crowd control.
In the throwable slot, frag grenades are the most consistent to use. With flashes and stuns, you need to be quick to follow up, and even then, you might get greeted by a shotgun in the face.
