Best Rebounding Assist Setting for NBA 2K26

Every player dreams of snatching every rebound like Dennis Rodman and converting defense into instant offense in NBA 2K26. This year, rebounding is a total game-changer for Park, Rec, and Pro-Am dominance.

However, one setting can make or break your board control: Box Out Assist Strength. It is set to 50 by default, but by changing it, you will discover elite hidden animations and positioning.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a casual player or a competitive beast; mastering this alongside god-tier attributes and badges will make your opponents lose their minds trying to steal the rebound from you.

Box Out Assist Strength: Crank It To 100 Or Drop To 10?

Head straight into Controller settings > Vibration > Box Out Assists Strength. When you set it to 100 (High Assist), your player will stick more aggressively to defenders, auto-boxing them out for easy rebounds.

This is the perfect tweak for beginners or players who want consistency. The reason for this is that it minimises slip-ups and maximises attachment, as high values glue you in, reducing manual errors.

Flip the value to 10 (Low Assist), and you will have all the control you desire. Here, you slither around boxes manually, gliding past defenders for contested grabs. This is more suitable for pros who are accustomed to the game and want more control over their player. A riskier choice that rewards skill, avoiding the game’s overbearing AI pull.

Attributes, Badges And Pro Hacks

Aim for 94+ Rebounding overall for Gold/Hall of Fame Rebound Chaser (unlocks at 92 Off/Def Reb for Gold, 96 HoF) and Boxout Beast (HoF at 94). Target 80+ in Offensive/Defensive Rebounds for more fluid animations and badge thresholds.

These changes might seem little, but they have a significant impact on your performance. Dial in these today and conquer every rebound in NBA 2K26. Keep in mind that rebounding in NBA 2K26 is as much about mental anticipation as it is about physical stats.

Learning the shot trajectories of your teammates and common opponents allows you to predict where the ball will land before it even touches iron. By combining this high-level court awareness with a lower assist strength, you can effectively “swim” around larger defenders to snag offensive boards that would otherwise be out of reach.
