Best pubs in Edinburgh where you can watch the Euro 2020 football tournament

Football fever is soon to take over as Euro 2020 approaches and pubs in Edinburgh are taking bookings for the big games.

The European Championships are kicking off on the June 11 and to make up for the missed tournament last year, football fans will be eager to watch the match in a familiar setting. The pub.

With Scotland “on track” for heading into level 1, pubs will be allowed to open till 11pm and can serve eight people from three households at a table.

This will be the first Scotland's first major championship in 23 years and their first game is on June 14 against Czech Republic and they play England on June 18.

A number of pubs will be showing the Euros and we’ve compiled some of the best pubs to watch the matches.

The Three Sisters

The Three Sisters is a popular venue with their large outdoor space and massive projector in Cowgate.

Inside you'll find different rooms, each with their own vibe and a beer hall with a huge screen so you can immerse yourself in the game.

The Pear Tree

Popular with Edinburgh University students, The Pear Tree in Newington is perfect for summer weather with an enormous courtyard and large projector, big enough for everyone to see.

The Garden at Teviot

The Garden at Teviot has 15HD Widescreen TV’s positioned throughout their stretch tent and one in each of their beach huts.

They will be showing every game and extended their booking slots up to 3 hours.

For anyone who gets a bit peckish, from 12-4pm The Garden at Teviot will be offering half price nachos, a pint and all day breakfast for £6.50.

For outside dining they also have heaters and every table is covered if the weather decides to turn.

Greene King Pubs

There are a number of pubs in Edinburgh that can all be booked through the Green King app.

  • The Beehive Inn is situated in the Grassmarket.
  • Platform 5 is across from Haymarket, perfect if you’re traveling to and from the capital.
  • The Doctors embodies the history of the city with its victorian decor on Forest Road, just off Lauriston place.
  • The Merlin in Morningside is more modern and spacious and has a beer garden for when the sun comes out.
  • The Corstorphine Inn can be found in Corstorphine and serves your classic pub favourites.

Each of the above pubs will be showing all Euros games from the group stages on multiple screens with full commentary and sound.
