Best places to see the River of Light fireworks display 2019 in Liverpool

An amazing fireworks display will light up the sky above Liverpool's waterfront as the highlight of this year's festival.

The huge event is expected to draw large crowds to both sides of the River Mersey, with displays at the Pier Head in the city centre and at New Brighton in Wirral.

The displays will take place simultaneously from 6.30pm this Sunday, November 3 to celebrate Bonfire Night.

In Liverpool, families will be able to take a tour around the city before the main event, visiting 10 new light installations, which include spiders projected on to the Cunard Building and 200 luminous spheres in the courtyard of Liverpool Parish Church (Our Lady and St Nicholas).

But where's the best place to see the fireworks?

Where are the best views?

The most obvious place is to head to is Liverpool's waterfront, in and around the Pier Head, Riverside Walkway and the Albert Dock and up towards the M&S Bank Arena.

Kings Parade runs the whole length from Liverpool Marina to the M&S Bank Arena and is not the most obvious place to stand on the waterfront, so may be less crowded than by the Three Graces.

Some other alternative places to enjoy the festival from include the top of Chavasse Park - where you could even grab a bite to eat before the fireworks start and the top of Everton Brow also has a breathtaking vantage point of the whole city.
