Best place for fish and chips in Liverpool named and it's not actually a fish and chip shop

The number one place to indulge in fish and chips in Liverpool has been named - but it's not actually a chip shop.

Fish and chips is a much-loved meal across the UK, and thankfully here in Liverpool there are plenty of places serving the delicious dish.

The current number one spot on TripAdvisor for fish and chips in the city may surprise a few people, as it’s a Grade II listed building home to a high end restaurant.

There’s quite a variety in the top 10, from Yanni’s Traditional Fish & Chips, to The Butterfly and The Grasshopper.

However, the all important number one spot on TripAdvisor has been awarded to Wavertree Town Hall.

That’s right, the restaurant and cocktail bar on High Street in Wavertree has earned the title of the best fish and chip shop in Liverpool according to TripAdvisor.

Second place has been given to The Edge at Joey Orr’s, The Butterfly and The Grasshopper is third, The Workshop fourth and Yanni’s Traditional Fish & Chips is fifth.

Completing the top ten is Cargo Seafood Restaurant in sixth, Pippin’s Corner on Lark Lane is seventh, Festival Food and Drink (now known as The Cavern Restaurant ) is eighth, Spire is ninth, and Docklands Fish & Chip Shop completes the list in tenth.

If you fancy trying Wavertree Town Hall’s fish and chips, you can book a table here. The restaurant is at 89 High Street, Wavertree, Liverpool, L15 8HF.
