The weekend was a feast for sports fans as the Premier League's return coincided with the All-Ireland football semi-finals.
A packed house was at Croke Park to see old rivals Dublin and Mayo clash for a place in the showpiece on Saturday.
Mayo went in at the break with a two-point lead but a devastating second half display saw Dublin move one step away from a fifth successive All-Ireland title.
On the same day, Ireland got their World Cup preparations in full swing with a workmanlike 26-16 victory over Italy.
In the Premier League, normal service resumed for Manchester City who ran out 5-0 winners against West Ham in London.
Then attention turned back to GAA HQ on Sunday where Kerry battled back with a storming finish to see off Tyrone and book their place with the Dubs in September's final.
